Astier de Villatte’s ‘Palais de Tokyo’ candle was designed in collaboration with the Palais de Tokyo museum in Paris. The scent captures its essence, one which many find intoxicating.

Overlooking the river Seine, with its austere silhouette, Palais de Tokyo feels less like a building than a force field for imagination. Within its vast maze, intoxicating wisps of smoky wood curl through the air, warmed by the skin of zealous crowds and sharpened by a cool, metallic vibration. There is something haunting in the composition, as though the scent itself were tracing the passage of artists, insomniacs and devotees through the space. It captures that peculiar beauty of contemporary culture at its most intense — raw, cerebral and faintly nocturnal.
